I actually just saw a guy wearing SHORTS the other day while I was walking out of the store. You’re right, most people really do not bundle up enough so that it doesn’t feeling shocking to their bodies when they transition from indoors to outdoors.
I bundle up like a marshmallow anyways, even if it’s not stylish:-)

I always feel kind of goofy when I want to pull my big eskimo hood up, just because I hardly ever see anyone wearing their hoods.. even though the wind chills are biting here right now (I live in Ohio:) ). It does keep your head so much warmer though.. by blocking the wind, and not being knitted like hats usually are, with little holes to permeate through. Plus it blocks the wind from your neck completely.

That is a way to look at it. I personally promote wearing scarves or the type of hound-dog hat on that I am wearing. That way you are breathing thru fabric which increases the chances of you reaching your destination with your vocal folds unchanged and ready to sing. =)

You’re right it is frighteningly hard to look from side to side, so I basically work around it….lol!

HILARIOUS STORY!! Thank you for sharing that. I got a visual of it, instantly!

Yes, it is cold and I love those hats. If I lost it, I would be devastated…ha ha ha!

Thank so much!

Those hats are the business, I managed to find one that does up at the front like that. I turned up at my brothers house in a balaclava…..He thought someone had come to rob the place.

It’s minus 15 here with a foot of snow. It’s true….the slightest chance and the cold will get you.

Good stuff once again Erik

Yay, great tips! Or great reminders to some. :) But, I don’t know if you experience this, but isn’t it hard looking from side to side or to the back when you have a hood on while bike riding?! I’ve almost crashed a few times because of it, but to stay warm, I still put my hood on. :)

hey Erik i have heard that it is also not good to breath cold air, and that it should be avoided because it cools dow the vocal folds. do you do anything against that?
